KotoPinat
KōtoPīnat brand is not only well-designed products for families with babies but also a new way of thinking. The company's concept allows parents of babies to keep their living environment aesthetic also after having kids
CONTEXT
KōtoPīnat is a baby brand and an online store I have developed since I relocated to the Netherlands and became a mother in 2016. Simplicity and global diversity are the mindsets that lead me in any product I create. It guides me during the designing and developing of all products, from branding to execution.
EXTERNAL PROJECTS
In September 2017 KōtoPīnat innovative guidelines were chosen to decorate a sustainable interior for kids and adults, in Breda (The Netherlands). Devi & Kamu was a unique space that was used as a daycare during the weekdays and a cafe during the weekend.
INSPIRATION AND MOTIVATION
Kōtopīnat was designed to be a bridge between babies and adults décor.. As a designer and a parent, I am looking for the balance between a modern Innovative world, my world, and a world based on a natural environment for my baby. Part of that is the will to keep the character and the life I had before I become a mum, not to change completely as a person, and try to combine the new life, with a newborn baby, in a holistic way, into mine. Therefore, I use contemporary materials and colors as well as innovative and fresh designs to create a cozy brand that features modern aesthetics and a nurturing atmosphere.
KOTOPINAT IS A LANGUAGE AND A FONT
KōtoPīnat” is an affectionate “baby language” nickname for an unborn baby. In English, it means “coated peanut”. I chose this name to represent globalization, cultural diversity, and openness (which are all very important ideas in my brand!) just like a baby’s first sounds are the same in every culture and language.
To define the brand precisely I designed a unique font that describes that language and fits with the guidelines.
